“With vision there is no room to be frightened. No reason for intimidation.” - Charles R Swindoll
Keratoconus is a condition where the cornea (ball shaped, clear, frontal part of the eye) is unable to hold its round form and starts to bulge forward like a cone.
Keratoconus is a condition that can run in families, it is therefore a good idea to have your children’s eyes tested by the age of 10 if it is in your family. Continuous eye rubbing, certain allergies or some medical conditions can be a cause of Keratoconus.
Signs to look out for are blurred vision, glare and halos at night.
If Keratoconus is extended normal spectacles doesn’t give the patient 100% vision anymore and the patient must switch to specialised contact lenses that helps to reshape the cornea and stabilises its form.

This is a therapy that replaces the need for Laser surgery in myopic (near-sighted) clients. It is a great choice for near-sighted people of any age.
This procedure is highly effective on young children’s vision hence it stops it from deteriorating each year as they grow. This will benefit them greatly over their lifetime. This is an alternative to corrective eyewear for both young and old.
We design a lens that is only inserted when going to sleep. While sleeping the lens gently starts reshaping the cornea.
Upon waking the lens is immediately removed, and perfect vision is then obtained during the day without your spectacles or contact lenses!
There is absolutely no risk as the shape of the cornea will always go back to its original shape once lens wear is discontinued. It will also not cause chronic and worsening dry eyes as is the case with laser correction.
We are in the process of looking into therapy for hyperopic (farsighted) and astigmatic clients as well – watch this space!
“Eyes do not tell people what they see, people tell eyes what to look for.” - Larry McDonald
Irlen is a condition where certain wavelengths of light cannot be accurately processed via the eye to the brain.
This causes distortions to become noticeable, especially on the written page. People will complain of the white of the page being “too bright”, or report slight movement or blurring of certain words or letters. Letters are also swopped around from time to time which makes understanding of what is being read a time consuming process.
Just cut out the wavelengths that causes this discomfort with a light filter. For example: a specialized tint on the lens that will help all those suffering from Irlen.

Sportvision entails performance oriented comprehensive vision care programs with the aim to improve the athlete’s overall performance.
Since 80% of all inputs to your brain comes through your eyes, vision is one of the most important factors of sport. Sportvision is based on the premise that excellent vision is necessary for optimal sport performance. The good news is that vision can be trained! Extraordinary vision is not just the ability to see clearly, but rather the ability to use all available visual information successfully.
Visual skills that can be trained are:
